Round 3 of the Ashgrove Renewables Junior A Football Championship brought good news for Lismire and Lyre who joined already qualified Ballydesmond and Castlemagner in the Semi-Finals of the Junior A FC.

Lismire advanced following a 4-8 to 2-9 victory over Kilbrin to seal 2nd place in Group 1 . Lismire have recovered from an opening day defeat to Ballydesmond to register impressive wins over Kanturk and Kilbrin, they  will now look forward with great anticipation to a Semi-Final clash with Group 2 winners – Castlemagner.

Lyre had an impressive 0-21 to 0-8 victory over Knocknagree in the Group 2 decider . Both teams had performed admirably against Castlemagner and a close tussle was expected , however Lyre were comprehensive winners on the night and now look forward to a Semi-Final v Group 1 winners Ballydesmond.

In the final game in Group 1 Ballydesmond had a 2-11 to 1-6 victory over Kanturk in their Round 3 fixture, Ballydesmond , while always being in control were given a serious examination by a hard working Kanturk side. Bally emerge from the group unbeaten and will be hoping to perform to the same heights in the Semi-Final v Lyre.
