Newmarket and Dromtariffe qualified for the 2026 E. Tarrant and Sons Junior A Hurling Championship Final with hard earned  Semi- Final victories over Meelin and Freemount respectively.

The 1st Semi saw near neighbours and rivals Newmarket and Meelin go head to head on Saturday , Sept 19th in Kilbrin. Newmarket had an early lead- and never relinquished same despite strong pressure from Meelin. Meelin reduced the deficit to 3 points approaching half time but 2 late Newmarket scores saw Newmarket with a 1-9 to 0-7 lead at the interval, Newmarket continued in the ascendency in the 2nd half and while Meelin continued to hurl with great determination- Newmarket ran out worthy winners on a 1-22 to 1-14 scoreline.

Dromtariffe had to overcome a strong Freemount challenge on Sunday evening in Banteer , Freemount made the early running before Dromtariffe settled to achieve a half time lead of 2-12 to 1-11. Dromtariiffe pushed on in the 2nd half using their experience to finally overcome a game Freemount on a final scoreline of 3-26 to 2-16.

The Final will be played at 4.30pm on Saturday, Oct 3rd in Banteer.
