Ballydesmond and Castlemagner  have qualified for the 2026 Ashgrove Renewables Junior A FC Final , Both semi-finals were hard fought, closely contested affairs and both LYRE & LISMIRE were very close to causing an upset.

Ballydesmond faced off against Lyre in the 1st semi-final on Saturday evening in Knocknagree, Bally made the early running and had a 4 point lead after 15 minutes, Lyre settled and were well in the game at half time on a 0-7 to 0-4 scoreline, The 2nd half was a tight , tense affair and a Lyre goal saw the sides level with all to play for before Ballydesmond got the last 2 scores to emerge victorious on a 0-14 to 1-9 scoreline. Ballydesmond move on to the final while a young Lyre side will take great encouragement from their championship campaign .

Lismire were very close to upsetting the form book in the 2nd semi v Castlemagner played in Kiskeam on Sunday evening. Lismire made the early running and were highly competitive all through the !st half before a well taken Castlemagner goal saw the sides level 1-4 to 0-7 at half time , The 2nd half  saw more exciting fare as Lismire raced into a well merited 4 point lead only for Castlemagner to claw themselves back into the game with some well taken scores. Extra time beckoned as the sides finished 1-12 to 0-15. Castlemagner had the better of the first period of extra time to lead 1-14 to 0-16 at the 10 minute break,  the intensity levels from both sides did not drop in the 2nd period of extra time  as Castlemagner showed all their experience  to emerge winners on a 1-18 to 0-17 scoreline. Castlemagner advance to play Ballydesmond in an eagerly awaited final- whil Lismire will take enormous encouragement from a championship campaign which bodes well for the future.
