Newmarket had a comphrensive 4-30 to 0-16 victory over Freemount in the Duhallow Hurling Cup Final played in Meelin,

The Sunny weather and splendid ground conditions led to a fast pacey game where Newmarket’s sharper stickwork was rewarded with some fine scores, Freemount to their credit continued to battle until the very end , but were unable to overcome a Newmarket side who will now concentrate on their Junior A HC campaign. Freemount look forward to their game with Millstreet in Group 2 of the Hurling Championship.
